About Just About Rite
Born of a Spiritual Journey
Just About Rite is a division of Nimblefingers. Originally,
Nimblefingers was only a knitting shop. After sharing space with
a natural foods store, it's inventory began to include herbs and
other sundries. The natural foods store is no more, and the
demand for the herbs (in small quantities) continues. Thus, Just
About Rite.
My real interest in herbs and natural living began before the birth
of my son 16 years ago. All pregnancy did was make me more
stringent in my research. In the years since, I've remained
a dedicated student of natural healing. Natural living is
sometimes much more difficult to achieve.
My spiritual journey began in earnest when I was about 12. Being
raised in a Southern Baptist area, I naturally walked this path
first. It was a shoe that didn't fit. So was atheism
-- this was the shortest lived segment of my spiritual life. Along
the way, I've tried Buddhism, agnosticism, wicca, shamanism, and
now -- if I must pigeonhole myself at all -- I would define myself
as an eclectic pagan. I simply wear the shoe that goes best
with the terrain, to continue the metaphor.
After shopping the internet for personal ritual supplies, I found
an absence of conservative supply shops. Perhaps there isn't
a shortage, but I continued to be confronted with splashes of pentagrams
and other graphics that did little to assure my family that my beliefs
were not similar in any way to those of the psychopaths in the news
that claim their atrocities are associated with their religious
beliefs. In short, places I would definitely not visit were
I still working in an office. As you probably well know, there
are very negative connections with the many pagan symbols.
For me, ritual is extremely personal. For that reason, I
am solitary in my formal practices. This, as all things spiritual,
is a personal choice.
Just About Rite is a place for you to shop for your very
personal, spiritual ingredients and tools.
Blessings,
Lliannan
